- Remember that when simplifying fractions, you just divide top and bottom by a common factor.
- It will require fewer steps of working if you pick large factors, for example dividing both numbers by their highest common factor will get you the answer in a single step.
- However, it is often easier to calculate if you pick small factors like 2, 3, or 5.
