What happens between the moment a pollen grain lands on a stigma and the moment it fertilises an ovule?

  1. Once the pollen grain lands on the ovule, a pollen tube grows out of the pollen grain and down through the stigma and the style.
  2. The pollen tube then enters the ovary via a micropyle.
  3. The male gamete then passes down the pollen tube and enters the ovary.
  4. It can then fertilise the ovule.
